The news, as of late in the NBA

As of late, the Golden State Warriors are looking like a much different team, losing Baron Davis and getting Corey Magette/ They jut recently signed Ronny Turiaf which is a solid role player who can provide the Warriors withh somthing they really need, defence. The next thing that they are lacking is a point guard because let’s face Monta Ellis is not a point guard. In my opinon signing Maggette was a dumb move for the Warriors because they have now forced Monta Eliis to become a point guard, The Warriors have now put themselves in the draft lottery for the next few years.

As for the Clippers they are also a team which has made some strange deals, especially obtaining Marcus Camby from the Nuggets. They now have two centers in Kaman and Camby but they both need be minutes to be effective. The Clippers have huge holes in the 2,3, and 4 spots which should keep them away from making the playoffs anytime soon.

Unrelated to the NBA but, basketball related nevertheless, the last 3 teams have been decided for the 2008 Olympic basketball tournament: Croatia, Greece and Germany. I am always amazed at how often Greece makes the Olmypics and plays remarkable well, despite the lack of players with NBA experience.  Ginobli will play for Argentina and I’m sure he will give the U.S. some troubles. I still think that USA will win it all but Spain and Argentina will make the tournament interesting.
