Toronto vs Washington and the play of Jose Calederon

The play of Jose Calderon has really given an identity to this Raptors team. Before TJ Ford’s injury the Raptors didn’t have an established point guard to play most of minutes. A Team like the Orlando Magic can live with have two point guards that can share the minutes because they have players like Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkglu who can create their own shots. However Toronto doesn’t have any of those kind of players on their team and they need a point guard to distribute the ball. Don’t get me wrong I love the way TJ Ford plays but, I didn’t think he was the right fit for the Raptors long term success. I think that the raptors could get a good player by trading TJ Ford for someone like Pau Gasol or Jason Richardson. I think that the Raptors lack depth in the shooting guard and small forward positions so a player like Jason Richardson could really help them out. Will Jose Calderon become an All Star this season? I would certainly hope so, he has been playing amazing and has helped the Raptors stay in fifth seed in the East.

As for the game tonight againist the Wizards, I am pretty sure that the Raptors should win this one. I just think the Raptors are the better team and have a huge advantage at the Power forward position. If Andrea Bargnani gets some quality minutes in this game, I’m sure the Rpators can coast to a victory tonight.
